Fatbike

A true all-round off-road bike with chunky tyres, which is also perfect for riding on the road. Ideal for uneven terrain and comfortable thanks to its lightweight frame.

We deliver our bikes delivered free of charge to your holiday address at Texel. Holiday home, bungalow park, hotel, campsite or B&B – virtually any venue is welcome.

How do you book a bike at Fietsen op Texel?

You can hire a bike from us in three simple steps:

Ga naar fietsenoptexel.nl. Select your chosen bike(s), the hire period and your collection or delivery location. You’ll see the price straight away.

Step 2: Pay and receive confirmation

If you pay for your booking online, you’ll receive a confirmation email straight away with all the details.

Stap 3: Op de fiets

Please pop into the depot on the agreed day to collect your bike, or have the bikes delivered via our delivery service.

You can return items to the same location where you collected them (or arrange for them to be collected from your holiday address).

Book in good time

During the peak season (July–August, the May half-term holidays and the autumn half-term holidays), our popular bikes — e-bikes, cargo bikes and tandems — are snapped up quickly. Please book at least a week in advance; during the peak season, preferably 3–4 weeks in advance.

Dress in layers

Even on sunny days, there can be a brisk wind along the coast. Always take a windbreaker or a light jumper with you, even in summer.

Don’t forget your sun cream

You don’t feel the sun as much when you’re cycling, but it’s still strong. Sun cream is a must, especially in the dunes and along the beach.

Follow the cycle junction markers

Texel has an excellently signposted cycle junction network. At our depots, you’ll be given a cycle map so you can cycle along all the island’s most beautiful routes.

Always lock your bike

Unfortunately, bike theft can also occur at Texel. Always lock your bike if you’re leaving it unattended for any length of time.

Wear sturdy footwear

Flip-flops aren’t ideal for cycling, especially on longer routes through the dunes. Sports shoes or ordinary trainers work best.
